Rita Margarido


 

Rita holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering in ecodesign and sustainable design. She is a research fellow at CENSE – Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research (http://cense.fct.unl.pt/), where her work is based on an interdisciplinary research concerning the interaction between human and ecological systems.
She is currently a Phd student of the International Doctoral Program in Complexity Sciences, at ISCTE/FCUL where she focus her research in sustainable food systems. She is a member of the Portuguese NGO GEOTA where she works in sustainable consumption and represents Portuguese NGO at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), as a board member.

  • December 2007 – present: Executive manager of the environmental chapter in the Millennium bcp bank CSR report (from 2007 to 2009); consultant in the development of the bank sustainability strategy
  • March 2008 – Present:  Executive manager of the project “EcoBlok – a label to transfer standard environmental information along the product chain” 
  • December 2008 – January 2010: Researcher in the project "Sustainable public spaces – a framework for planning, design and management", ANA Aeroportos/ Ministério das Obras Públicas Transportes e Comunicações
  • February 2008 – Present: Member of the Portuguese Technical Commission of the European Standardization Committee CEN/TC 350 - “Sustainability of construction works”
  • October 2009 – Present: Assistant Professor at Escola Universitária das Artes de Coimbra (ARCA-EUAC) , lecturer of Architecture and Sustainability in the Msc in Architecture
  • September 2009 – Present:  Member of the Executive Committee of the European Environmental Bureau – EEB
  • March 2010 – Present:  Member of the Executive Committee at GEOTA – Grupo de Estudos de Ordenamento doTerritório e Ambiente, a portuguese NGO.
